Prayer is not a shopping list. Nor do we believe it is an invitation to an absent God to intervene in a situation in which otherwise God’s presence would not be felt.
Our God is not a god who helps an affluent Christian to find their car keys, whilst allowing a child to starve.
For us, then, prayer is aligning our will with God’s, and inspiring us to act to build God’s Shalom.
Often our intercessions are activities - symbolically spurring us into further action in the world. There is another page with suggestions for prayer activities.
